Apologizing for not writing more in the previous days;- we could have summarized it as heavy driving days. Indeed, after the very long 1800 km to Astana, the family reunion and the Astana city tour/ repair day, we have headed some 450km north to Pavlodar, an old industrial city renowned for its intergalactic mosque.
06/09 registered over 600km and the worst border crossing so far (4h30) where we were made idle for over an hour at the Kazak customs. For sure in Kazakhstan exist a world for improvement in terms of friendliness and fairness. The beginning of Siberia on the Russian side looked definitively brighter, picturing endless golden grain fields interconnected by rows of trees. We can feel the autumn arriving as the first trees are yellowing and the temperature is dropping at night time not that far away from freezing. Barnaul is quiet an extended city providing us with the last necessary facilities before leaving for the BIG DREAM – THE GOBI DESERT. We say far well and see you shortly as we doubt we'll have internet connection over the next 7-9 days.
To be continued from Ulan Bator …or earlier :-)))
Still looking in good shape guys.
