20/8 - IRAN - Bandar-e-Abbas to Shiraz

The first camping after a quasi non sleeping boat trip was not really better due to the heat and humidity (36deg). We slept in a nice plain at around 600m above sea level. The road took us through several plateau's highlighting green plantations amongst the rugged stony mountains.

After a 600km drive and the first petrol negotiation for Bart, we arrived in Shiraz (1,500m) in the early afternoon, expecting cool weather however, this was not the case, still around 40 degrees. In the afternoon, shops were closed awaiting to open at 4-5 pm, therefore we headed to an big hotel to change some money. Upon finishing a samusa and hamburger on the Shiraz Champs Elysees, we made some sightseeing and enjoyed made a quick shopping for the first decent meal of the trip for the evening (steak, mashed potatoes and cucumber:- Thanks to our Chef Jan :-)))).

We left Shiraz around 4pm to drive to the foot of Persepolis archeological place, where we set-up camping at the Persepolis Tourist Complex for a first proper shower :-). Luckily temperature dropped at night and after the delicious and tasteful dinner, we could enjoy a deep recovery sleep.

To be continued..
